Water Features and Fountains
Custom fountain installation in Toronto and the GTA
A fountain should look like it was always meant to be there.

Most fountains sold online are made to sit on a patio for a few summers. A custom fountain is designed for one place: the end of a sightline, the centre of a courtyard, the first thing guests see from the drive. We size it to the house and the space around it, which is the part most people get wrong. Too small and it looks like an ornament. Too large and it takes over.
We work in natural stone, cast stone, corten steel and contemporary finishes, and we plan the plumbing, pump vault and wiring before anything is set. You see the fountain in 3D against your home first, so the scale and the sound are settled before a stone is ordered.

Before you build
What to plan for
Sound
Water falling a short distance murmurs. Water falling far onto a hard surface splashes and can be loud. We tune the drop and flow so it suits a patio or a bedroom window.
Wind and splash
Open sites lose water to wind. We set flow and bowl depth so the fountain does not empty itself on a breezy afternoon or wet a nearby walkway.
Winter
Every bowl has to drain fully or be protected, because trapped water cracks stone when it freezes. We design the drainage in from the start.
FAQ
Custom fountains: common questions
How long does a custom fountain installation take?
Most custom fountains take a few weeks on site once the design is approved and materials arrive. Large stone pieces can have longer lead times, so we order them early.
Do I need electrical work for a fountain?
Yes. The pump and lights need a dedicated, GFCI-protected outdoor circuit installed by a licensed electrician. We include it in the plan.
Can a fountain run in winter in Ontario?
Not safely in most cases. We shut fountains down in late fall, drain them and store the pump, then reopen in spring.
What is the difference between cast stone and natural stone?
Cast stone is a moulded concrete product that can be shaped into detailed forms. Natural stone is quarried and usually denser. Both work when sealed and drained properly.
